Hard Cover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition. 188pp. 7.5 inches. No dw. Maroon cloth, black titles spine, black titles and reproduction on front, small reproduction on back. Forward lean, few small black marks on back. Tiny marks near base of fore-edges. Internally about as new, no owner's marks, tanned endpapers, few fox spots to last 3 pages and a few faint to first few pages. Illustrated with over 100 plates reproduced with good detail in this small format. Hogarth's social and moral history of the 18th century in caricature; the Rake's Progress is included naturally, along with numerous other political and social situations. Text has been "adopted" from John Ireland. Astonishingly comprehensive. 280g (Art, Painting, Drawing, Engraving, Print, 18th Century, Social History) Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
