First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. This book is in fair condition. There is a library bookstamp in the front and a bookplate in the rear. The outside boards are darkened. The original spine has been replaced. This book contains all 4 original color illustrations and all 9 black and white illustrations, with none missing or removed. There is a chip to the margin of the title page ( not text is affected). This is a First Edition, 2nd state without the bowing hobbit on the title page and the Chapter VII heading correctly labeled "Chapter VII". A rare copy of Tolkien's classic work.
