Add to basketFirst editions, first impressions, of the complete set of the Harry Potter novels, all signed by the author on the title pages. The set includes a copy of the rare hardback issue of Philosopher's Stone in superb condition. Complete sets signed by the author are rare. Philosopher's Stone has all the points for the first impression: Bloomsbury imprint, misprint "Philospher's" on the rear cover, number line running from 10 down to 1 on the colophon, and "1 wand" listed twice in the list of equipment on page 53. This copy is one of the 500 copies issue in hardback, of which it is thought 300 went to schools and libraries. Prisoner of Azkaban is one of 2,500 first state copies, with "Joanne Rowling" listed as the copyright holder and dropped text on page 7. Errington A1(a); A2(a); A7(a); A9(a); A12(a); A13(a); A14(a). 7 vols, octavo. Original pictorial paper-covered boards. With dust jackets where issued. Philosopher's Stone housed in a red quarter morocco folding box by the Chelsea Bindery. Spine of Philosopher's Stone minutely faded with a hint of rubbing and bumping to ends and corners, contents of Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets toned as usual. A fine set in fine jackets.

Honors include a commendation for the Carnegie Medal (1997), a short listing for the Guardian Children's Award (1998), and numerous listings on the notable books, editors' Choices, and best books lists of the American Library Association, The New York Times, Chicago Public Library, and Publishers Weekly. Joanne (Kathleen) Rowling (1997 2007), a full set of all seven Harry Potter UK first edition books, published by Bloomsbury. All are signed by Rowling except the first volume which has a signed bookplate loosely laid in. The books are housed spectacularly in full leather solander boxes for perfect protection, and those in turn placed in a buckram box for easy transport or display on the shelf. No expense has been spared to create the perfect housing environment for the set whilst allowing a beautiful presentation. The set consists of: 1) Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone (1997), UK hardback first edition, first printing, published by Bloomsbury. Comes with a loose Bloomsbury bookplate signed by Rowling; all first edition points present the Wendy Cooling blurb on the front panel; the rear panel bears the typo with an o missing in Philosopher s and Hogwarts School of Wizardy and Witchcraft instead of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. Page 53 lists wand twice as called for. No dust jacket as issued. One of only 500 copies printed of which the majority (300) went into public libraries. This is NOT an ex-library copy. It has been professionally restored (spine tips and boards' corners) by a leading conservationist in the UK and now presents in near fine condition with one closed tear to the first text page as shown. 2) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (1998), UK first edition, first printing, published by Bloomsbury. Signed by Rowling on the title page. In near fine condition as shown 3) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (1999), UK first edition, first printing, published by Bloomsbury. In near fine condition. 4) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2000), UK first edition, first printing, published by Bloomsbury. This is the rarer Scottish variant printed by Omnia. Signed by Rowling on the title page. In very good condition with the page block edges showing ageing 5) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2003), UK first edition, first printing. Signed by the author on the title page. Scarce as a signed first edition since Rowling did not do any promotional tour for this title. In very good condition with some ageing/ yellowing to the page block as shown. 6) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2005), UK first edition, first printing, published by Bloomsbury. Signed and inscribed by the author to Mel on the title page. Exceptionally scarce to find signed as there were no promotional events for this title. 7) Harry Potter the Deathly Hallows (2007), UK first edition, first printing, published by Bloomsbury. Signed and inscribed by Rowling on the title page to Lindsey . This copy was signed at the only midnight signing event in July 2007. One of only 1,700 copies signed at the event. A wonderful set of all UK hardback first editions, first prints of the seminal Harry Potter series. Presented beautifully with the solander boxes and treasure case. Ideal for a fan, or as in investment which has beaten inflation and the stock market by far over the past 25 years and counting. First and Fine. Signed by Author(s).

Add to basket[Fantasy adventure] UNCORRECTED PROOF COPIES, SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. Octavo (21 x 14cm), pp.315; later increased to 316. Publisher's typographic printed softcovers, in purple (earliest) or green (revised). Both versions state 'Joanne Rowling on c.p., which was carried over to a small number of first edition hardbacks (being the first issue). Each book is signed by the author; in addition, within the later proof, J.K. Rowling has circled the 'dedication' text on that page (which was not yet ready) and has queried this with an inked question mark. Accompanying the pair is an original memo dated 14th January 1999 from Roz de la Hay at Bloomsbury head office, discussing the nature of these proofs, the necessity for two versions; "there were a couple of changes made at the last minute which slightly affected the plot" and disclosing the print run; "150 of the new proof (green) and 31 of the old (purple)." She adds that the purple copies should only be distributed to trusted buyers, and the differences explained. The package is completed with an original letter from booksellers Broadhurst's of Southport, who supplied this pair in 2003. Fine, fresh copies with bright white edges and virtually no wear to covers. A superb pair, likely unique in such exceptional condition, signed state and with the Bloomsbury memo, which is of great bibliographical significance. It confirms the proof print run of just 31 copies (purple) and 150 copies (green). The number of proofs had previously been thought higher, the purple at some 50 copies and green at 250 copies. 'Azkaban' was the only Rowling title which needed two separate proofs, and was the third and final title for which proofs were printed.

Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. First edition, first printing of the deluxe edition of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," signed by J.K. Rowling on the dedication page. This copy was signed in August 1999 for David R. McMillan from Dunblane, Scotland. McMillan, intimately associated with Rowling through publicity work, had the privilege of meeting her several times. An original letter detailing his association with Rowling is included with the book. The DELUXE edition of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" was released on July 8, 1999, simultaneously with the trade edition, marking the first installment published by Bloomsbury as a collector's edition. The print run for the initial release is unknown, but it is exceptionally limited. In September 1999, Deluxe editions of the first two volumes followed with a larger print run. All subsequent volumes were released concurrently with the trade edition. Due to its extremely restricted availability, the first print run of this title is the most valuable in the series. This holds true for authentically signed copies, which are exceedingly rare. This particular copy was signed shortly after its release, with only a handful of such signed copies in existence. The book is bound in the publisher's original green cloth and appears unread. The condition is near fine. Handling has caused some slight (hardly noticeable) fading at a few points on the edges of the green cloth, but the boards are without any wear. Minor bumped lower spine end, sharp upper spine end and sharp corners. The green endpapers are unmarked, the pages are clean with very mild toning as usual. The gilded bookends have a few minor marks but still look very good. Overall, a very attractive copy of an exceedingly scarce signed book, housed in a beautiful custom-made half-leather clamshell box. Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity (LoA) from Adam Houston (TheHarryPotterSpecialist), the world's sole J.K. Rowling signature expert and a collector's card that provides additional information. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is a first edition, forty-third print. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a first edition, twenty-second print. Each book is in near fine condition, with just light creases to the covers and negligible reading creases to the spines of the books. Each book in internally clean and unmarked, with no ownership name. There are no tears to any of the pages. No dogeared pages in the Chamber of Secrets or the Prisoner of Azkaban; a few consecutive pages have light top corner creases in the Philosopher's Stone, but they are not dog-eared pages. First edition, second printing of the third novel in Rowling's acclaimed Harry Potter series. Octavo, original pictorial boards. Boldly signed by J.K. Rowling on the dedication page. Fine in a near fine dust jacket. Cover illustration by Cliff Wright. Rare and desirable. British novelist Joanne (J.K.) Rowlingâs Harry Potter series has swiftly become the best-selling book series of all time with over 500 million copies sold. Born in Yale, Gloucestershire, England, Rowling rose to multi-millionaire status from relative poverty within a five-year period which also saw the death of her mother, birth of her first child, and divorce from her first husband. Themes of loss and darkness prevail throughout the series, in which a young wizard, Harry Potter, develops his magical powers at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and heroically attempts to overthrow the evil and powerful Lord Voldemort. The third novel in the series, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban won the 1999 Whitbread Children's Book Award, the Bram Stoker Award, the 2000 Locus Award for Best Fantasy Novel, and was short-listed for other awards, including the Hugo. The story follows Harry in his third year at Hogwarts, which starts off on bad note when he learns that the legendary and deranged murderer Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban and is determined to end Harry's life. The film adaptation of the novel was released in 2004, grossing more than $796 million and earning critical acclaim. Directed by Alfonso Cuarà n from a screenplay by Steve Kloves, the film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, alongside Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as Harry's best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.
