Hardcover. Condition: VG. 13th ed.(1st-1919). xi+1214+(8 pub.adverts for equipment with a few text figs)+(16, blue graph paper), all edges gilt, covers have rounded outer corners. Innocuous small (15 mm) stamp of the Birminham assay Office Library bottom front endpaper, some slight dustiness to endpaper & pastedowns and edges a little darkened along the thin pastedown/cover binding strips, otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked. Limp black cloth covers clean and unworn but spine lettering dull, major flaw is concavity of spine. Despite being a 13th edition this seems to be extraordinarily scarce in any edition and none listed outside U.S. as far as I can see. While being a company promotional publication it is a high quality production of great practial utility covering everything from antidotes to poisons (with which it opens) via mathematical tables of over 20 kinds, 'General chemical tables' inc. 'trade names of dyestuff intermediates' and solubility tables, properties of elements, heat, sound electricity and light related tables, aqueous solutions and 'wire tables'. No doubt invaluable for garage owners in the remote mid-West trying to fix broken down T Fords and science teachers in isolated rural schools. Suspect iits very practicality is cause of its current scarcity.
