Inscribed on title page: 'To Sir Laurence Olivier, Revered by archers for his "agincourt" scene, but also for being the only actor… we ever managed to shoot! Best wishes, Tom Foy.' Master Bowman, founder of the Crystal Palace Bowman, and owner of the Archery Centre, Tom Foy penned two titles on archery. The inscription refers to both Olivier's turn as Henry V in the 1944 British production of the same name, including the famous Battle of Agincourt, and his later role as Richard III (1955), during filming for which he was shot in the leg with an arrow. From the library of Laurence Olivier, to whom many books were gifted over the length of his illustrious, industrious, and enduring career as one of the most important figures of stage and screen in the 20th century.
