Paperback. Condition: Very Good. The group consists of: typed letter signed by the president of "Metales" company along with original mailing envelope (a few tears), price list (5pp, tape repaired), medal collection sample (9pp, 8 x 12.5", tied together with a red ribbon), 245/247 medals along with its own shipping envelope and stamps (torn, missing a few pieces). The president, Miguel Jensco, is responding to an inquiry from "House of Mystique", explains that the samples are gold colored copper, not gold like the completed medals which are gold and he is also sending him one gold medal (not present). The "House Of Mystique Incense Co", owned by George Agee, was located on Detroit's infamous Plum Street. Meant to be an art community with restaurants and theatres, Plum Street became a hippie hangout "sex, drugs, & rock 'n roll" which eventually discouraged customers. At one point there were 43 shops, by 1969, three years after the district opened, there were only six to eight shops. The envelopes are addressed to a PO box, not Plum Street so maybe they had moved on. The "House Of Mystique" was lucky enough to have their logo designed by Gary Grimshaw. A total of five pieces, sold as a lot. Still has a strong incense smell. SCARCE memorabilia.
