According to the succinct foreword by John Ryder, the purpose of this book is 'a light-hearted account of the techniques of the Art Room.' Focuses on various printing and graphic arts methods - chapte…r titles include the following: Primitive Methods, Texture, Colour, Wood, Metal etc. (See image of Contents page). Condition (external): both boards with striking illustrations and colouring display obvious tanning of their undecorated/unprinted sections. Also, some edgewear. Black plastic ring-binding is intact. Condition (internal): very sound generally - the only real condition-related element also being the mild to moderate tanning throughout. The many colour and b/w engravings remain largely unaffected by this phenomenon. Dedicated to members of the Art Society Press 1951 - 1961. pp.93. 4to (landscape). More images/information on request.
