Title is printed below the right image (and on the back of the board in six different languages). "Series 1894, by Bert Underwood." is also printed under the right image. "Strohmeyer & Wyman, Publishers, New York, N.Y." is printed on the left side of the board. "Sold only by Underwood & Underwood, New York, Liverpool, Toronoto-Canada, Ottawa-Kansas." is printed on the right side of the board. Strohmeyer & Wyman was a stereoview company co-founded by Henry Strohmeyer. Strohmeyer took most of the company's pictures when it was first established. Underwood & Underwood was a publisher and distributor of stereoviews and operated from 1881-1940s. Bert Underwood (1862-1943) was one of Underwood & Underwood's founders.

In ihm treffen Menschen zusammen, werden Liebschaften eingegangen, Flitterwochen und Urlaube verbracht, sich verliebt, verlobt, vergnügt und gestorben. Unzählige Romane und Filme nutzen diesen Handlungsort als Schauplatz unterschiedlichster Geschichten. Das Grand Budapest Hotel ist der zentrale Handlungsort in der gleichnamigen Tragik-Komödie des Regisseurs Wes Anderson aus dem Jahr 2014. Der sechsstöckige Prunkbau liegt hoch in den Bergen in Nebelsbad, einem Ort in der fiktiven Republik Zubrowka, und beherbergt neben den Gästen eine Schar von Angestellten. Der Hochlage zu verschulden kann das Hotel einzig über eine Kolonnaden-Seilbahn erreicht werden und ist somit von der Außenwelt abgegrenzt. Seinen Aufschwung hatte das Hotel in den dreißiger Jahren, woraufhin der Zweite Weltkrieg für das Fernbleiben der Touristen sorgte und das Gebäude in den sechziger Jahren bereits heruntergekommen und weniger besucht war. Im Folgenden wird das Grand Budapest Hotel der dreißiger Jahre mit dem gleichen Hotel in den sechziger Jahren verglichen und der Frage nachgegangen, inwiefern Wes Anderson ein und dasselbe Hotel auf zwei unterschiedliche Weisen inszeniert hat und welche Wirkungen dadurch ausgelöst werden. Dabei wird der Fokus auf den Räumlichkeiten wie Lobby, Speisesaal, Thermalbad und Lift liegen. Die Filmcharaktere spielen weniger eine Rolle, da vorrangig das Hotel in seinem Verwandlungsprozess dargestellt werden soll.
