Corners bumped and leather worn at the edges. The is the second edition of Thornton's Botany. 238 pages. Pages toned from age and with some foxing. Binding is slightly shaken, from having been opened to the plate-pages again and again. All 45 plates are present, but two are detached and one of those is a bit edgeworn. But they're all here. The book (and the plates) are a pocket-sized 3.5 x 5.5 inches. The plates are quite nice. Some show single species, some show several related species in the manner of a modern field guide. There is an early ownership name on the front free endpaper. Published nearly-simultaneously in New York and London. The London edition much harder to fine.
