Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Graven, Will - dustjacket and title page (illustrator). 1st Edition. Red hardcover binding is clean, square and tight. Dustjacket was glued to stiff brown paper and flaps glued to endpapers by previous owner. DJ is not covered in clean Brodart jacket- we were reluctant to remove the glued flaps. The edges of the spine are rubbed, but still displays nicely. 303 pages, some light stains to endpapers and a number of interior pages but does not interfere with actual text or readability. Photos available by request. Scarce title by the author of 1101 Park Avenue, the basis for the movie My Man Godfrey, and The Year of the Horse - which was adapted for the Disney movie starring Dean Jones and introducing Kurt Russell - The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit. This one had been praised by reviewers as a fantasy saying it had "the zestful appeal of a good novel from the lamented Unknown", asking the question - can one man inherit another man's girl?
