Condition: Good. Good condition. (cookbook, ladies home journal, 1898) A copy that has been read but remains intact. May contain markings such as bookplates, stamps, limited notes and highlighting, or a few light stains.

Soft cover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Tall 12mo in yellow wraps with green Printing, in good condition. Antiquarian cookbook. The wraps are darkened and soiled. The Stiff paper cover has become brittle with age and thew are some chips and some wear. Edge tanning in the interior pages. The spine panel chipped at both tips. However the book is still tightly bound and unmarked. A few pages of ads in the beginning, as end papers , and at the end, after the index. There are chips in the paper at the spine staples in these ads at the end. Mrs. Sara Tyson Rorer, a dietician and food writer, was the author of several popular cookbooks during this era, including "Field Guide to Fungi", "World Cooking", "Robin Hood Flour Cookbook", and others, and published a magazine called "Table Talk". Sarah Tyson Rorer was an American pioneer in the area of domestic science. She was educated and taught at the New Century School of Cookery in Philadelphia and founded her own Philadelphia School of Cookery in 1884. Rorer gave many cooking exhibitions, including at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair and the Pennsylvania Chautauqua, where she was president of its auxiliary board. Rorer was editor and part owner of "Table Talk" from 1886 to 1892, an editor for "Household News" from 1893 to 1897, and on the staff of the "Ladies Home Journal until 1911 when she went over to "Goodhousekeeping."
