Massive historical and regional study of Germany, province by province, condensed from research done during the war, by political scientists with influence as government advisors: Pollock "served as an election official in the Saar Plebescite in 1935" and as advisor to numerous commissions and agencies thereafter, including the High Commissioner in Germany and the Hoover Commission. - Vast material upon which decisions were made during the US occupation and government of Germany, including geographical, historical aspects. For example, there are 16-pages on Mecklenburg, concluding with a bibliography of 45 items on Eastern Germany, most in German.
