Condition: Fair. 1956. First Edition. 278 pages. No dust jacket. Orange cloth with gilt titles to spine; gilt crest to front. Includes photographic plates. Map endpapers. Pages are rather marked with pronounced tanning and foxing, plus thumbing. Slight gutter cracking. Binding is firm. Prices in pencil to both endpapers. A few dog-eared corners. Foxing and tanning more noticeable towards start and end of book and on text block edges. Boards have some moderate edge wear, with slight bumping to corners and minor bumping to spine ends. Boards a little rubbed and marked overall. A ring mark to front board. Spine is noticeably sunned. Gilt is dulled and worn. Several minor dents to board edges.
