Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. BOOK DESCRIPTION: 8vo, 857 pgs. Second printing of this first Wings Book edition. CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Near Fine; interior is clean and tight. Unclipped DJ is lightly rubbed, now in mylar sleeve. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: This is classic, spectacular spy fiction. This complete collection of his first Bernard Sampson trilogy. It is clever, fun, interesting reading and having all three together is a very satisfying format. I really liked the television mini-series with Ian Holm and Mel Martin as "Fiona", the complex wife to Bernard and a master spy herself. This was in the late '80's; too bad Deighton disliked the production and refused its repeat release. But here, you can read the deep, rich characters and situations that Deighton creates; some of his best stuff.
