This complete collection of his first Bernard Sampson trilogy. It is clever, fun, interesting reading and having all three together is a very satisfying format. I really liked the television mini-series with Ian Holm and Mel Martin as "Fiona", the complex wife to Bernard and a master spy herself. This was in the late '80's; too bad Deighton disliked the production and refused its repeat release. But here, you can read the deep, rich characters and situations that Deighton creates; some of his best stuff.

First editions, first printings. Published by Hutchinson in London between 1983 and 1985. This is a near fine set. The dust wrappers, each illustrated by Hargrave Hands are tight, clean but with some slight toning to the edges. The later two volumes showing the £8.95 and £9.95 net prices. The last volume, London Match, is sunned at the spine. Each copy is free from previous owners inscriptions. The text blocks are free from foxing, however the earlier two volumes are slightly toned. Overall, this is a near fine set of a classic spy trilogy. A collection of the first three novels in the Bernard Samson series.
