Joseph Hallet, from M'Clintock & Strong: ".an English Nonconformist, was born at Exeter in 1692, ordained in 1713, and succeeded his father as co-pastor with Mr. Pierce over the Independent congregation at Exeter in 1722." These books are notes on peculiar texts of Scripture. Full leather, edges worn, bottom of back strip vol. 1 gone, spines covered in transparent tape. Volumes 1 and 2 are first editions. There was eventually a volume 3 which we do not have. Volume 1 dated 1729. ESTC citation T131158. Name blacked out in two places. Errata slip at the end. 384 pp. followed by an errata slip followed by one page of ads. Volume two dated 1732. Two names blacked out. 358 pp. followed by two pages of ads.
