Jacket has faults - namely edge/shelf wear, numerous tears, patchy loss, creasing/rubbing to edges, few marks, patchy browning (including to spine), few spots of foxing, pushing/rubbing to head/…tail of spine, pushing/bumping to corners, odd small mark/browning/odd spot of foxing to reverse (white side), creasing/rubbing/browning to front/back inner flaps and is in only fair condition. Boards are very good (having been well protected by the jacket) with minor pushing/bumping to corners and a little pushing/rubbing/fading to head/tail of spine. Some (quite) major spine lean. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Previous owner's name in pen to front end-paper. Odd small mark/light foxing to top edge of pages. Pages bit tanned. Very occasional small mark/spot of foxing to pages. No other faults. All books described honestly and accurately. Paypal accepted.

Published in 1959 this is the First Edition of the novel "Free Fall" by William Golding, the author of "Lord of the Flies", this example has a unique hand painted dustjacket, done very close to the time of publication, the inside flap of the jacket is credited… to a Sheila, and dated February 1960 the jacket has mild edge wear else in good condition, books covers clean, internally endpapers noticeably foxed and browned, there is a former owners blind embossed stamp to the front endpaper, an Edward F. Cass. Rest of contents generally clean, AN INTERESTING EXAMPLE OF THE FIRST EDITION WITH A UNIQUE HAND PAINTED DUSTJACKET.
