    Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Bewick, Thomas (illustrator). 1st Edition. True first British printing with original unclipped jacket (10s 6d). Wood engravings by Thomas Bewick. By the author of Mary Poppins. Jacket has minor patchy edge/shelf wear, severe fading to/near spine, a little other minor patchy fading, a few tiny (approx. 3mms) tears, the odd small mark, odd minor crease/rub to edges, minor pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine and to corners, the odd spot of foxing/patchy browning to reverse (white side) and the occasional small scratch. Boards are near fine (having been well protected by the jacket) with a hint of pushing to corners and very minor pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Odd small mark/spots of foxing to top edge of pages. Very occasional small mark/spot of foxing to pages. No other faults. A nice copy. All books described honestly and accurately. Paypal accepted.
