Magnificent photographs of the bridge taken as it was being built by Philip Phillips, the son of one of the contractors. Work started on the bridge in 1882 and it was opened in 1890. The second edition, undated but early 1890s. In all 55 plates plus photographs of the engineers and contractors. Many of the plates fold out to double width. The cover boards are a bit scruffy with a small split to the upper spine but for a heavy and rather unweildy book the binding is good and internally it is pretty clean. Size: 340x430mm.
