Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. The present research work was undertaken with the objective of developing, optimizing using DOE and evaluating a herbal toothpaste formulation incorporating saponin as a natural surfactantThe herbal toothpaste was prepared using suitable excipients and evaluated for various physicochemical and performance parameters, including appearance, pH, viscosity, foamability, abrasiveness, spreadability, stability studies. These parameters were assessed to ensure product stability, acceptability and effectiveness for routine oral care.Based on the evaluation results, the developed herbal toothpaste was found to be safe, stable, and functionally comparable to marketed formulations. The study supports the feasibility of using saponin in herbal toothpaste formulations and highlights its potential for commercial application in natural oral-care products.Overall, the findings of this study suggest that saponin can be successfully utilized as a natural surfactant in herbal toothpaste formulations. The developed product was found to be safe, stable, and functionally effective, supporting its potential as an alternative to conventional toothpaste formulations containing synthetic surfactants.
