A semi-scientific approach to what the trout sees before it decides to inhale an artificial fly. Covering light & shadows, reflections, colors, geometry of the rise plus notes on fly fishing in general plus observations on dressing flies. Plus an entertaining chapter on modern angling literature. This copy of the true 1st edition is in VG condition with some discoloration to endsheets from binder's paste and light scattered foxing to preliminary pages oilt, o/w internally clean and bright. The dust jacket is in good only condition with moderate wear, edge chipping, spine label faded and some internal cellotape repairs. Somewhat hard-to-find in jacket and an important title for the fly angler.
