Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First edition, thus. Edited and with preface by C. Bower Alcock. Quarto. 142pp. Purple cloth boards with spine lettering and fron panel illustration in silver. Sunning to the spine, along with some scattered spots, very good with fragments of the original dust jacket laid in (front panel, spine and one flap). With jacket art and 16 interior illustrations by Beresford Egan.

Quarto (27.25cm); simulated black leather, with titling and decorations stamed in gilt in spine and front cover; publisher's original acetate dustjacket, with printed sheet mounted to front flap; [ii],[6],7-140,[2]pp; illus. Faint foxing to endpapers and text edges, occasionally encroaching into the margins; light wear to exterior; Very Good+. Dustjacket is heavily rubbed and cloudy, with several tears and small losses; Good to Very Good. Laid in is a 46pp pamphlet with the French translations of Baudelaire's poems. A privately printed limited edition of Baudelaire's collection of verse, offered here in new prose translations, accompanied by illustrations by Beresford Egan.
