Laid in is a stiff card coupon for a bread knife, a faint penciled recipe is on the back. Held in place with a paper clip is a recipe for "Ontario Rutabaga Spice Cake," left in place. This a broad selection without a table of contents. A section on Meat and fish dishes utilize game and variety meats (liver, sweetbreads, tongue ect.) Within the pudding section is "Steamed Puddings" with variations from the base recipe to make Spotted Dick, Date, Fig or Ginger Pudding. Black Currant, Apple, Rhubarb, Marmalade or Treacle Pudding is given in one narration with variation options. Taffy Coating for Puddings is new to me - although others might know of it. Sailor's Duff, Eggless Suet Pudding, Christmas Puddings, Prize Plum Puddings, Carrot Puddings all make one salivate in anticipation! A very nice collection in a somewhat worn cover, still usable and presentable. A nice addition to any collection. ; 8vo.
