B&w. photograph of small fishing boat at a wharf with fishing shack Title & signature in pencil on bottom of mat inside border lines In 1920, MacAskill became a photographer for the Commercial Photo Service and by 1925 was the proprietor of this establishment. It was probably during this period that he met Elva Abriel, also a commercial photographer, who may have done some work for the Commercial Photo Service (C.P.S.). They were married in Enfield in 1926. Later MacAskill (1893-1956) became a world renowned Nova Scotia photographer who illustrated the romance of the sea as no one has done before or after. His photographs have won hundreds of national and international awards and may be found on walls throughout the world. Photography is in very good condition, the original mat also in very good condition. Black & white photograph mounted on beige mat with black line borders, in black wooden frame.
