Original Wraps. Condition: Very Good. Gertrude Herrick Howe (illustrator). Oblong format; color-illustrated stapled card covers; vinyl spine strip. Most of the contents are comprised of attractive pictures, interest-peak [sic; should be "pique"]incidents, and appealing activities, designed to inspire reading readiness. Only few final pages introduce single syllable words/names. Instructions and lesson guide in rear, pp. 47-48 and inside rear cover. Beautiful and engaging vintage color illustrations throughout. Irregular small light stain to rear cover; otherwise general faint soil to covers and name "Edith" in pencil on front cover. Interior clean, intact, and only faintly worn.

Gertrude Herrick HOWE (illustrator). 8vo; 48pp [1]; color printed wrapper with title and illustration of children playing on front, title and publisher to back cover, mint cloth spine; 26 full page color illustrations; inside front wrapper sets out books purpose, 3 pages following illustrations with instructions for teacher; age toning of wrapper and pages, one page with corner turned down, Whittier City School stamp to front cover; very good. Nicely illustrated children's school beginning reader.
