Boards are exposed along edges and at corners; covers appear quite rubbed and lightly stained. Cloth, too, is fairly rubbed and frayed along spine. Advertisements for the "Young Ladies' Class Book" printed on rear cover, with reviews expressing amazement at how lessons for boys could be so clearly adapted for ladies of the time.
