Blue covers with gilt, 248pp with eight b/w plates, inc frontis of Dowding. Contemporary newspapers cuttings of spitfire pics and Dowding's funeral have been pasted in to prelims. Covers have modest shelfwear, and bumping to extrems - particularly head and foot of spine. Extensive foxing to prelims, but main text bloc is tight and clean except for previous owner's name on last page (also on ffep). Unclipped DJ has extensive wear, some losses, several tears (some repaired). Basically a sound copy. Ref:145125.
