At the request of the General Services Administration (GSA), the Federal Computer Performance Evaluation and Simulation Center was operated by the U. S. Air Force under the authority of Air Force Regulation 23-43 and FPMR 101-32.14. The objective of FEDSIM was to provide computer performance evaluation services to agencies of the Federal government. FEDSIM policies were established by a Joint Policy Committee made up of representatives of GSA, the Air Force, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the National Bureau of Standards. In addition to consultant services, FEDSIM has delegated procurement authority and offers simulation configuration packages, data reduction packages, analytical models and other tools and techniques. This is in effect a marketing brochure for FEDSIM's services. The focus areas included design of special purpose computer systems, specification development, hardware requirements, Computer System Selection, and Communications System Selection. presumed First Edition, First printing thus.
