Glasgow: Printed by Robert Anderson, 1874. 16 pp. Octavo (8-1/2" x 5-1/2"). Stab-stitched pamphlet in printer wrappers bound into contemporary three-quarter calf over marbled boards, raised bands, gilt title and gilt ornaments to spine. Rubbing to extremities with light wear to corners, hinges cracked but secure. Offsetting to margins to endleaves, light soiling to wrappers, internally clean. $50. * Only edition. This item contains the text of the trust disposition that bequeathed funds for the establishment of the Mitchell Library. Located in Glasgow, it is one of the most important public reference libraries in Europe.
