First printing. 287 pp., 6.25 x 8.25 inches. Sewn signatures glued into plain card covers, in printed dust-jacket (attached, as issued). Edition of 500 copies. Illustrated in color throughout. As new. Inspired by (and as a critique of) the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), Dutch artist Barry van der Rijt, himself diagnosed with ADHD, collected hundreds of examples of disturbances or dysfunctions in digital moving images, and meticulously classified them in this "manual of codec orders." Each classification includes diagnostic criteria and multiple examples of frames from disturbed digital video images.
