Leather. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Time-Life Books, 1976. Hardback Second Printing. The Old West Series. Hardcover Book in Very Good + Condition. No Jacket, as issued. Lavishly illustrated. Embossed design on brown leather binding with pictorial cameo inset of "The Old Stagecoach of the Plains" by Frederic Remington stagecoach on the trail. Marvelously expressive color and b/w illustrations and maps throughout, on nearly every page, many two-page spreads. The focus in this book is on the Pony Express, Stagecoach transport of mail, goods and passengers, and related hazards and adventures. Book is in remarkably good condition with one significant defect, which is the scuffing of the binding on the rear upper corner-see photo. Front corner of the spine heel is scuffed. Otherwise has been lovingly treated throughout its age, with internals very clean and crisp and bright, no markings, no creases. 240 pages with bibliography and index. 11 x 8.5 inches. Time-Life Books, Alexandria, Virginia, 1976.
