Condition: Bueno. 24.5x39. vi pp. 2l. 653pp. Plates. Contemporary leather with raised bands. Tears to 4 of the plates (one neatly, but rather primitively repaired), minimal traces of worming in preliminaries. This copy has been used as the family bible by the Bushell, Fagg and Cullen families of Patham (? there are Pathams in Kent and Suffolk). The family list start with the children of William Bushell, the oldest, Mary Ann, born in 1816, and continues with some 20 family members born throughout the 19th century. This is an uneducated family, with frequent (and sometimes fairly extreme) spelling mistakes, and shakey handwriting.
