Add to basketCloth. Condition: Good +. Dust Jacket Condition: No Jacket As Issued. First Thus. Here's a set of books for the mystery lover . . . and it's a rarity as an entire set as well. This offering is the entire 12 volume set of the Craig Kennedy Stories. They were published individually in Cosmopolitan magazine, then in 1918 as this twelve volume set. The Craig Kennedy Stories were written by Arthur B. Reeve, and Craig Kennedy became known to many as The American Sherlock Holmes. Certainly the series helped lay the foundation for future American mystery writers to build upon, and are a valuable part of America's mystery heritage. His The Poisoned Pen may have been the source for the name of one of America's greatest book stores, The Poisoned Pen in Scottsdale, Arizona. (You'll have to ask Barbara Peters for confirmation . . . or denial.) All of the books in the series are either in good condition, or good + condition (most are in good +), all were published by Harper & Brothers Publishers, and 8 of the 12 have frontispieces by Will Foster, none have dust jackets . . . and probably never did. The set is still very readable, would look great on a shelf, and would make an absolutely great present for yourself, or a vintage mystery fanatic. The individual books, in order by volume number are: The Silent Bullet, The Poisoned Pen, The Dream Doctor, The War Terror, The Social Gangster, The Treasure Train, The Ear in the Wall, Gold of the Gods, Exploits of Elaine, The Romance of Elaine, Guy Garrick, and Constance Dunlap. Thank you!
