Erste Ausgabe.Frontespizio inciso f.t. con il ritratto dell'autore. Secondo volumetto di epigrammi pubblicato dall'autore. "Dopo aver studiato a Brescia e a Bologna, Carlo Roncalli fu piu volte a Parigi, dove strinse relazione con J.J. Rousseau e altri letterati. Ritiratosi poi nella sua citta fu socio di vare accademie. Tra il 1789 e il 1795 pubblico a Venezia 4 volumi di epigrammi. Propri o tradotti, in cui confessava modestamente di imitare lo spirito degli antichi; in verita tali componimenti non mancano di toni personali, sono di una fluida eleganza assai piacevole, rivelano spesso un acuto senso di osservazione e un animo nobile" (Laterza 1966: vol. Si tratta del secondo dei due volumi bodoniani dedicato agli epigrammi del Roncalli. Il presente contiene gli epigrammi latini colla traduzione italiana. Il primo, edito nel 1786, conteneva gli epigrammi francesi colla traduzione italiana.
