First published in France, same year, and here translated from the French by Elizabeth Shub, this is a beautiful and highly regarded picture book. Lovely, Asian style paintings in soft, muted pastel shades compliment the simple but touching story. First printing of the U.S. edition. A fine copy in a very good, price clipped dust jacket. There is edgewear and nicks, a two inch closed tear to rear panel, a tear to top of spine with large chip missing from top of front panel.
