E.C.Bentley published a clerihew about him in More Biography (1929): "Of course Ranjitsinhji was quite right not to be stingy But I never could quite see the relevance Of his keeping nine thousand elephants". Preceeding adventures (unpublished) in the series chronicled their visits to a Ben & Jerry's icecream parlour, The Cheese Boards, Andronico's grocery store, Toyo restaurant, and, Black Oak Books (to which this should be seen as a continuing saga).
