Softcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Bound softcover typescript. Orange covers with black cloth at spine. Very good condition, clean and fresh. From the library of noted mathematician Charles Greenhall, with his name penciled on top of the first page. Richard Dean was a professor of mathematics at Caltech. His achievements in the field include showing that the word problem in a finite-presented lattice (a certain type of algebraic structure coming from order theory) is solvable. He later applied lattice theory to problems in economics. He was the author of two algebra textbooks. 4to. 212 pp.
