Only dates are 1885 copyright and 1887 copyright for Gray's Lessons in Botany revised edition.

Hbk, Part I (Elements of Botany): 226pp; Part 2 (Manual of Botany): 760pp + a section of 25 b+w full-page Plates with Explanations at the rear, Part I illustr throughout in b+w, no dj as issued, very good brown cloth with gilt titles (dulled to illegibility at the spine, but bright and clear on the front cover), now in custom acetate jacket, marbled foredges, overall a very good clean tight unmarked copy, becoming harder to find.

Condition: Fair. Wear and tear to edges and corners of cover. Hardback, 760 pages plus plates with explanation at rear. Appears to have had a short nail driven through the rear cover ad ten removed.

Bound in green embossed boards with gilt-titled leather spine. Engraved illustrations at rear, plus actual plant samples laid-in by prior owner. Ex-library copy with one stamp from very prominent institution. Leather is worn, boards almost detached, 19th Century ownership (?) inscription, otherwise complete early printing of this classic.
