Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Good tight binding with clean, unmarked text. Inner front inscribed as a Christmas present in 1942. Wonderful study copy. Elbert Green Hubbard (June 19, 1856 ż May 7, 1915) was an American writer, publisher, artist, and philosopher. His best-known work came after he founded Roycroft, an Arts and Crafts movement community in East Aurora, New York in 1895. He died aboard the torpedoed RMS Lusitania in the Atlantic Ocean 11 miles (18 km) off the Old Head of Kinsale, Ireland at the start of WWI. This work, compiled by his heirs at Roycroft, is a collection of "nuggets" of wisdom and inspiration from the works of hundreds of writers, politicians, poets and scholars. The quotes and sentiments expressed are timeless. The book must have deservedly remained in print for decades. Copyright 1923. No specific printing information is available, but this copy was inscribed as a Christmas gift in 1942. Inscribed No Value.
