They find that here civilization has advanced beyond their wildest dreams, but their discovery brings danger too - will they escape from the edge of beyond or plunge into deathly darkness? The book is bound in paperback form and is in very good condition with light shelf wear to the covers and slight fading to the spine. The contents are secure and clean with slight age-browning to the pages. A list of five other books by Johns, facing the title-page, has a tick mark beside three of the titles. A number has been written on the top corner of the half-title page.

Pages remain bright and clean and binding remains firm, although book has slight forward lean. Boards have light shelf wear with minor corner bumping and crushing to spine ends. Unclipped jacket has moderate edge wear with tears, chips, and some small areas of loss. Noticeable rubbing and creasing. A tape repair to top of spine. Fantastic 1950s vintage science fiction.
