A fantastic investment priced well under a signed first printing set which sells for magnitudes more. Each book is in beautiful fine/near fine clean, crisp condition with fine/near fine original dust jackets. Details for each book are listed below by title: DUNE: Second Printing with the very scarce original dust jacket. A fine/near fine condition book in a near fine dust jacket. Part one of the Dune series (initially a trilogy), of one of the most significant science fiction novels of the 20th century. As called for the copyright page states Second Printing, April 1968. The second printing of Dune is extremely scarce in any condition, arguably more scarce than the first printing. Original green cloth boards with white titles to spine. The book is in beautiful fine/near fine condition with vibrant green clean cloth, sharp corners, and no edgewear but with some slight spine creasing. The binding is tight and square. The end papers are in perfect condition being clean and bright with no owner names, no inscriptions, no bookplates, and no bookstore stamps. The internal pages are very crisp, clean, bright, flat and still stiff with no marks, no writing, no stains, no bent pages and no foxing. The outer page block is bright. Beautiful book, internally appearing as unread. DUNE is signed on a laid-in signature by Frank Herbert "Frank Herbert". Please see images. The book comes with the First Printing, second state dust jacket in near fine condition (with 2 lines for the publisher on the rear flap). The jacket has benefited from restoration by an expert paper conservator to the spine ends, and as such presents as a near fine example. The jacket has No other rips, nor chips, but overall toning to the inner flaps and rear panel. The jacket is complete and NOT price clipped and has a stated price of $5.95. Please see the many included images. DUNE MESSIAH: First Edition, Second printing thus: Fine condition book in an unrestored near fine dust jacket. As called for there is no date on the title page other than the 1969 date, and the copyright page indicates 'second impression". Considered to the second printing thus, this book was issued in black boards. Clean, black boards with unfaded gilt titles to the spine. Stunning condition book, with sharp corners and no edgewear. The binding is tight and square. The book was oddly issued without the front fly leaf and it always found with the title page being the first page of the book. SIGNED by Frank Herbert directly onto the title page, "Frank Herbert". The internal pages are crisp, clean, bright and flat with no marks, no stains, no writing, no bent pages, and no foxing. The outer page block is bright. Beautiful clean, crisp book internally appearing as unread! Please see images. The bright unrestored original dust jacket has the requisite publishers code of 6910 to the lower area of the front inner flap. The price clipped jacket presents with some light nicking but has strong vibrant colors with no fading to the spine. Please see images for more details.
