[rear panel of dust jacket laid in] Leroy MacLeod was an American poet and novelist who also wrote THREE STEEPLES and YEARS OF PEACE. Born in Riverton, IA, Bessie Pryor Palmer was educated in the Conservatory of Music, Denver, and resided in Monrovia, CA. She was married to William Fleet Palmer and was Chief Clerk, U.S. District Attorney's Office, Los Angeles. She was active in club life and was President of the Southern California Women's Press Club. She was also a poet with two books of poetry to her credit, which explains the dedication inscription. MacLeod was a member of the Verse Writers' Club of Southern California. Inscribed by Author(s).
