Covers : very slight small shelf scratch on front, another on rear, faint rub top corner else bright. Contents : very clean, tight & unfoxed. Bright attractive copy. VG+ to F-.

A fine condition, 1898 edition with a most attractive period binding, in full tree calf with gilt decoration around the borders on the front and back, gilt logo of "Cambridge University Local Examination - Eastbourne Centre on the front panel, and raised bands, rich gilt decoration and gilt title on contrasting title panel on the spine, which is very slightly but evenly faded. Also fine gilt decoration around the cover edges. Attractive marbled end papers. All page marbled. 480-page text also in fine, tight, clean condition, with no inscriptions. 480 pages. Photogravure frontispiece of Browning. A lovely copy. See photographs attached. Size approx 200 x 133mm.
