In as new condiiton, the folder a little worn. Presented to A Thomas, a delegate at the IOJ Conference in Cheltenham in September 1974. An exceptional Rolt item. Aircraft equipment manufacturer Dowty Group was founded by George Dowty in the 1930s. It grew rapdily and in 1936 it listed on the London Stock Exchange. In 1992 it was acquired by Tube Investments who shortly thereafter made 1500 employees (some 20% of the workforce) redundant. Some group companies were then sold and what remained entered into a joint venture with Messier, then the world's largest manufacturer of aircraft landing gear.
