Seller: Ian Brabner, Rare Americana (ABAA), Wilmington, DE, U.S.A.
A very good example save for some slight discoloration to top bar. 7¾ x 2 inches. Colors vibrant front and back. An Order of the Eastern Star (O.E.S.) ember ribbon from Electa Chapter No. 6, based in Dover, Kent County, Delaware. The O.E.S., established in the mid-19th century as an auxiliary to Freemasonry, admits both men and women and is known for its philanthropic and fraternal activities. The Electa Chapter's name likely references one of the five heroines of the Order, symbolizing charity and endurance.
