Jeff and Ellen Gates moved to Vermont and wanted a dog of their own. It never occurred to them, however, that they would *find* their dog, or that he would turn out to be twins, but this is just what happened. The two children knew that their parents would not approve of one homeless and hungry black and white dog, let alone two. How Jeff and Ellen solve the problem to everyone's satisfaction, including the dogs, Double and Nothing, makes a funny, exciting and mysterious story.
