    Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. This stapled, soft cover booklet measures 9.5 x 10.75 inches, and features a striking drawing of a dog, which is attributed to Parker. The booklet has some foxing on a number of its inside pages. The racing dogs were almost always greyhounds. The "sport" of dog racing is now judged disreputable, but was considered a legitimate gaming activity for generations. Even so, in its heyday, the tracks attracted demonstrations and strikes against the cruelty of the activity. Some of the tracks were illegal establishments, neither certified nor licensed.     Cloth. Condition: Very Good +. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Uncommon Miami Beach dog racing programs, Jan. 27th, 1949 and Feb. 20th, 1950. Both programs clean and VG in their stapled, pictorial wrappers, with very light creasing (where each had been folded) throughout. Internally no writing or markings of any kind. The programs also come with 9 separate Miami Beach Kennel Club betting stubs from the 1949-1950 season. A nice glimpse into post-War gambling life in Miami Beach.…
