Hardcover. Condition: Very Good-. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Illustrated by Williams, Richard [cover] (illustrator). First Edition. Slight edgewear/bumping, ex-library with usual stamps. DJ in protective wraps taped to boards. Text has a few small spots but generally clean and bright. "Docker, whose real name is Jonathan Bradley Coe II, arrives in Chesport, Connecticut fresh from St. Louis and finds that life in the East isn't quite what he's been used to. But he soon adjusts and is quickly mixed up in one escapade after another with his friends in Burfield Junior High. Docker is fond of practical jokes, and some of his more elaborate ones end in near-disaster for him, such as the time he gets a local eccentric, disguised as a famous scientist, to address the school, or falls through the ceiling at a friend's house while trying to scare a show-off who tries to steal his girl. His more frightening adventures include being caught and tied up by a gang of burglars, getting conned into a boxing match in which he is totally out-classed, and being in a car that is wrecked in a game of 'chicken' played by the older high school students. Docker is a funny and likable teenager, and in this often humorous, frequently exciting record of a year in his life young readers will recognize a kindred spirit. ,br> Age Level: Young Adult; Ex-Library; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
