Engraved frontis. of Dr. Johnson "form the statue in St. Paul's church". Binding rubbed with wear to extremities and very small loss to top of spine. Gilt textblock edges significantly dulled. Front hinge cracked but securely held. Internally generally very crisp and clean with the very occasional small mark; light age toning and light foxing. Name label to FEP. A fairly well-preserved copy of this early pocket-sized edition.…

A small crack to the rear joint with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot. Tide marks to the frontispiece and title page.
