Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - In this research work sustained release Diclofenac Sodium matrix tablets were prepared by using different polymers like Kollidon SR, Poly Ethylene Glycol and HPMC at different percentages. 5 batches of 260mg tablets were prepared by direct compression and wet granulation methods and by using different shapes in an attempt towards modification of dissolution behavior of the drug. The used shapes of tablets were caplet oval, round oval add flat oval. Dissolution study of each of the formulation was monitored at pH 1.2, 6.5 and 7.4. An increase drug release took place in case of higher pH i.e. at pH 7.4 & pH 6.5 but in lower pH i.e. at pH 1.2 a little amount of drug release was obtained. Due to the acidic nature if drug its release was lower at acidic pH. Again in case of shape at higher pH 6.5 & 7.4 the release was better from the caplet oval shape than that of round oval and flat oval. A cooperative higher release of drug was obtained from the polymer HPMC at 10% from the Diclofenac Sodium matrix tablet, which contain fixed amount of Kollidon SR, which was 30% them that of the PEG of 10%. The drug release was also found to be better in case of direct compression method.
