Signed in pencil by former owner on front end sheet. Pages have very light soiling (finger print smudges) but in overall very good condition. .

Cochineal boards, the top half of the front with blindstamped lettering discoloured by a spillage; the central afixed illustration badly scraped with loss to one corner; 1 cm x 1 cm pale mark on rear panel and faded spine with faded lettering. Internally lacks free front endpaper; seven slight finger marks in contents, the worst one (on Sept 8) illustrated. Tight binding. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Juvenile story book with splendid single colour illustrations by Bessie Pease Gutmann, only date is copyright 1907 possible first edition but cannot verify.Contains around 60 pages, not numbered, pages are overall bright and cleanjust the very occasional light mark, previous owners inked name on front endpaper.Binding is sound although it does appear to have a neat repair to front inner hinge a little webbing showing at top of hinge, very light foxing to illustrated endpapers.Outer boards are a little faded on edges and on spine, lettering on is embossed but colouring gone, the lettering to front is the same, embossed but no colour.
